The southwest monsoon is very likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, some parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands around May 13, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its daily bulletin on May 9, 2025.
In the Northeast, fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds at speeds reaching 30-40 kilometres per hour (kmph) and gusting to 50 kmph is likely during the next five days.
