India, Aug. 30 -- Optiemus Infracom, an electronics manufacturer based in India, is playing a key part in India's drive for self-reliance in electronics by commissioning the first tempered glass manufacturing plant in India in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The new facility - powered using Engineered by Corning™ technology from global materials science leader Corning Incorporated - was inaugurated today by Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Information & Broadcasting, and Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The effort is seen as a landmark under the 'Make in India' and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives targeting the reduction of import dependency and the establishment of a strong ecosystem for indigenous components within electronics.
