India, May 12 -- The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced global semiconductor sales were $167.7 billion for the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 18.8% compared to the first quarter of 2024 but 2.8% less than the fourth quarter of 2024. Global sales were $55.9 billion during the month of March 2025, an increase of 1.8% compared to the February 2025 total of $54.9 billion.
Monthly sales are compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and represent a three-month moving average. SIA represents 99% of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.
