India, June 30 -- The battery team at RISE has received the first batch of silicon-based anode material produced by GREEN14. This new material was created at GREEN14's pilot facility using a breakthrough technology that extracts silicon directly from quartz using hydrogen plasma - entirely fossil-free.

What makes this method unique is how much cleaner and simpler it is compared to today's conventional silicon production. Instead of using coal and extreme temperatures in arc furnaces - or hazardous chemicals - GREEN14 relies solely on electricity and hydrogen. The result is a high-purity, high-performance silicon with a dramatically lower climate footprint. A major step toward a more sustainable battery value chain.
