Srilanka, Oct. 19 -- Trade relations between Sri Lanka and Russia can be better as both countries are keen to elevate ties, said Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka, Levan S. Dzhagaryan. "Both countries have shown interest to improve trade relations which increased by 18% to reach US$ 664.9 million last year," the Ambassador said.
However, US and Western sanction which the Ambassador termed as 'illegal' stands in the way to strengthen trade relations between Sri Lanka and Russia.
