New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar died after his plane crashed on Wednesday while attempting to land in Baramati. The aircraft had four other personnel on board - a security officer, an attendant, and two crew members, including the pilot-in-command and the first officer.
The aircraft -- a Learjet 45 (registration VT-SSK)-- was attempting an emergency landing at around 8.44 am when it burst into flames, killing all five people on board.
Hours before the tragic crash, Pawar, in a post on X, had underlined the work carried out by his government so far -- a message that appeared routine.
