New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- The implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand has sparked widespread discussion, particularly about its impact on individuals in live-in relationships as new rules come into effect.
After the implementation of the UCC, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that registration of live-in relationships are mandatory. He added that the registrar will give the information of the couple to their parents.
He said, "Children born through live-in relationships will also be considered to have equal rights in property. In this law, registration for live-in relationships has been made mandatory."
