New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has reopened the El Paso International Airport in Texas city after halting all take-offs and landings due to 'special security reasons'. The airport sits next to US military's Biggs Army Airfield.
In a statement, the FAA said that all flights will resume as normal and that there was no threat to commercial aviation. "The temporary closure of airspace over El Paso has been lifted. All flights will resume as normal," it said.
El Paso airport had earlier said the restrictions had been issued "on short notice". Not just at the El Paso airport, all flights were barred to fly over the nearby community of Santa Teresa in New Mexico, the FAA said.
