New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced in the Union Budget 2026 that the central government is planning a Biopharma Shakti scheme with Rs.10,000 crore outlay in order to develop India's global bio-pharma hub.

The FM has proposed interventions in 6 sectors, including manufacturing, strategic and frontier sectors, healthcare and advanced technology.
