New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- The Indian stock market staged a solid recovery in Monday's trading session, January 16, as late-hour buying supported the key indices, helping them close nearly 1% higher, with the recovery largely led by financials and pharma stocks.
The Nifty 50 closed 0.83% higher at 25,682, while the Sensex settled at 83,277, up 0.80% from the previous close. The broader markets, however, closed mixed, with the Nifty Midcap 100 rallying 0.40% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index finishing the trade with a mild 1.1% surge.
In terms of sector-wise performance, Nifty Realty emerged as the top performer with a 1.60% rally, followed by Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Oil & Gas, and Nifty FMCG, all surging between 0.80% and 1%. On t...
