New Delhi, June 28 -- Parts of the national capital witnessed a spell of rain on Saturday, bringing relief from the sweltering heat and high humidity that had gripped the city for days. Visuals from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport showed rain-soaked runways. The India Meteorological Department has sounded a yellow alert in the city for today and has also forecast heavy rainfall over the next two hours.

The weatherman has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by rain over the weekend, with daytime temperatures likely to hover around 37degC.

Areas likely to receive rainfall include Jafarpur, Najafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar, Kalkaji, Mehrauli, Tughlakabad, Chhattar...
