New Delhi, May 20 -- Days after Pakistan failed in breaching the Indian defence system and dialed India for an agreement, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir was elevated to the rank of Field Marshal for "successfully" leading the armed forces in the conflict with India, as per a report by Geo TV.
Asim Munir was promoted to Air Marshal rank after the Pakistan Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a proposal to promote Army chief General Asim Munir.
The decision was taken for his "exemplary role" in the conflict with India, state-run PTV said.
