New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- In the wake of the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, President Joe Biden has declared January 9, 2025, a national day of mourning to honor Carter's legacy and his lifelong service to the nation.

In his statement, President Biden emphasized that flags will fly at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds for 30 days from the date of Carter's death.
