New Delhi, March 18 -- The clashes in central Nagpur on Monday were triggered by a combination of factors involving rumours and tensions surrounding two key issues: the alleged desecration of the holy book of the Muslim community and demands for the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb.

According to the police, rumours circulated that the Quran had been burned during the protest. Videos of the Bajrang Dal demonstration quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage within the Muslim community.
