New Delhi, July 21 -- Heavy rain lashed parts of Mumbai, adding to the ongoing weather-related challenges in the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), more rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. The continuous downpour has already led to waterlogging in several areas, causing severe traffic congestion on major routes.
As per data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on July 19, the combined water stock in the seven reservoirs supplying Mumbai has reached 81.86% of their total capacity, totaling 11,84,796 million litres.
