New York News, July 29 -- A gunman who discharged open fired within a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper, which accommodates the National Football League headquarters as well as the offices of several prominent financial institutions-including the hedge fund powerhouse Blackstone-has been "neutralised," according to the New York City Police Commissioner, Jessica S. Tisch.

The building at 345 Park Avenue is home to a range of financial firms such as Blackstone, KPMG, and Deutsche Bank, in addition to the NFL headquarters and the Consulate General of Ireland.

A gunman armed with a long rifle, reportedly an AR-style weapon and wearing a bullet-resistant vest, opened fire inside the skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
