New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- Skywatchers in Bengaluru are set for a spectacular night today as the city will witness a rare total lunar eclipse, also known as the Blood Moon or Chandra Grahan. On the evening of Saturday, September 7, the Moon will gradually slip into Earth's shadow, glowing in a dramatic red-orange shade as the eclipse unfolds.

The celestial show begins at 8:57 pm IST, when the partial phase of the eclipse starts. The highlight of the night-the total eclipse phase-will run from 11:00 pm to 12:22 am IST on September 8, when the Moon transforms into a striking crimson orb in the night sky.
