New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- A Kerala court on Monday rejected the bail application of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader PC George for allegedly making hate speech against the Muslim community during a channel debate. Subsequently, he was remanded to custody for 14 days, Live Law reported.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader and former Kerala MLA PC George surrendered before the Erattupetta court in the hate speech case around 11 am. According to reports, the Erattupetta court had remanded George in police custody till 6 pm on Monday.

Police had sought two days of custody. However, the court allowed only four hours, Mathrubhumi reported. PC Georgewas presented before the magistrate again after the custody period ended.
