New Delhi, June 11 -- Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Wednesday said the state government is planning to merge Tumakuru district with Bengaluru city.
Citing Bengaluru's rapid growth, Parameshwara said that he had submitted a proposal for the same to the state government.
The state home minister said while speaking to the media that Tumakuru district has been proposed to be converted into Bengaluru North district.
He also said that Bengaluru's rapid growth may expand to neighbouring cities such as Tumakuru, Ramanagara, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur.
