New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday opposed the Western view that the global democracy is under threat, showing off his index finger with an ink mark, saying that it "is a mark of a person who has just voted".
Jaishankar's remark came as he was speaking at a panel discussion named 'Live to Vote Another Day: Fortifying Democratic Resilience' at the Munich Security Conference.
When asked about his view on the western democracy, Jaishankar raised his index finger up and flaunted the ink mark on it, which signifies that he has just voted.
"Well before I do that, I appeared to be an optimist in what is relatively a pessimistic panel, if not room. I will begin by sticking up my finger and don't take it bad...
