New Delhi, March 8 -- In a good news for the women of Delhi, a scheme to provide an honorarium of Rs.2,500 to the city's women has been approved.

"Mahila Samridhi Yojana to give Rs.2500 to women in Delhi has been approved today," reported ANI quoting BJP national president JP Nadda.

The development came hours after AAP leader Atishi questioned why the Delhi government did not pass a scheme at its first cabinet meeting.

Earlier in the day, Atishi, a former Delhi chief minister, accused the newly formed BJP government of "failing to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise of providing financial assistance to women under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana.
