New Delhi, March 4 -- Former wrestling magnate Linda McMahon became the United States education secretary after the Republican-led Senate voted to confirm her with a 51-45 vote on Monday.

In her new role, the 76-year-old billionaire will oversee the Department of Education, a federal agency that may face massive workforce cuts under US President Donald Trump's presidency.
