New Delhi, March 17 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended a 'Dawat-e-Iftar', an event marking the opening of fasts by devout Muslims during Ramadan. The event was hosted on March 16 by Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Minority Morcha at the India Islamic Cultural Centre.
The Chief Minister said that that such programmes strengthen "unity and harmony" in the society. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, along with several BJP leaders, also attended the event.
