New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- Magnitude 7.4 earthquake strikes near the east coast of Russia's Kamchatka region, United States Geological Survey said. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), according to GFZ.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said "hazardous" waves were possible along coasts within 300 kilometres (186 miles) of the quake's epicentre.

A tsunami threat has been issued by the US Tsunami Warning System after an earthquake struck near the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
