New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Northeastern India on Sunday, the German Research Center for Geosciences said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles) GFZ said.
Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Major earthquake in Assam. My prayers for everyone's safety and well-being. Urge all to stay alert!"
