New Delhi, April 7 -- United States President Donald Trump's tariffs announcement last week has wrecked havoc on the global markets, from equities to commodities and cryptocurrencies. And amid all this, consumers in the US are now worried about the supply of their daily kitchen stocks will be impacted.
Many especially are concerned for about coffee and vanilla supplies in the US, given the significantly high rates of tariffs imposed on the trading nations - 46 per cent on Vietnam and 47 per cent on Madagascar, respectively.
Madagascar, on which the US has imposed a 47 per cent tariff, produces close to 80 per cent of the world's vanilla supplies. The bulk of the US' coffee imports come from Vietnam.
