New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- US President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to divest its US operations to December 16, averting a nationwide shutdown of the popular video-sharing app.

Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday to give more time to finalise the sale of the popular video-sharing app, following recent talks between US and Chinese negotiators.
