New Delhi, May 25 -- Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms lashed Delhi-NCR early Sunday, offering relief from the intense heat but disrupting flight operations and causing waterlogging in several parts of the city. The weather shift followed a red alert issued by the meteorological department for the region.

Heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in several parts of the city, including Minto Road, Humayun Road, and Shastri Bhawan. At Minto Bridge, a spot notorious for flooding during downpours, a car was found submerged.
