New Delhi, Nov. 13 -- US Republican Congressman Chip Roy, on Thursday announced plans to introduce a bill that would impose a total freeze on immigration to the country until a series of stringent immigration and national security reforms are implemented.

Roy, a representative from Texas, said the proposed bill would halt all forms of immigration "until certain objectives are achieved," while speaking on The Benny Show. The Benny Show is hosted by American political commentator and YouTuber Benny Johnson.

The Texas lawmaker argued that the US faces what he labelled as a "massive Islamism problem" and warned of what he sees as a growing threat from communities unwilling to integrate into American society.
