New Delhi, April 8 -- Shares of Bharat Electronics jumped 6% in early morning trade on Tuesday, April 8, reaching Rs.288 apiece after the Defence Ministry signed a contract worth nearly Rs.2,210 crore with the company on Monday.
The contract is for the supply of Electronic Warfare (EW) suites for Mi-17V5 helicopters of the Indian Air Force. These systems are indigenously designed and developed by CASDIC, DRDO, and manufactured by Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL).
The EW suite comprises a Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS), and Countermeasure Dispensing System (CMDS), which significantly enhance the combat survivability of the helicopters along with providing effective countermeasures, as per the company's r...
