New Delhi, Nov. 13 -- Working women aged between 18 and 52 years in both the public and private sectors in Bengaluru will now be entitled to one day of paid menstrual leave each month. The order issued by the State Labour Department applies to permanent, contract, and outsourced women employees working in companies registered under the Factories Act, 1948; Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1961; Plantation Workers Act, 1951; Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966; and Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961.
The Karnataka government had approved the Menstrual Leave Policy last month.
