New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- A glacier blast in Uttarakhand triggered an avalanche near Badrinath Dham, where over 55 workers are feared to be trapped. The workers who were working in the area are likely to be trapped under the snow, officials said on Friday.

The incident has been reported from the National Highway connecting Mana to Ghastoli in the state.

According to a report by PTI, the 57 labourers trapped under the snow were working for the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). The incident happened at a time when they were doing construction work in the area.

As per reports, while 10 workers managed to come out safely, the others got trapped under snow.
