New Delhi, May 13 -- BCCI confirmed on Monday that the Indian Premier League Season 18 will return from 17 May onwards after a one week suspension following the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan at the border. With a ceasefire announced between the two neighbours, the Indian cricket board wants to complete the IPL as smoothly as possible but the major hurdle it now faces is the availability of foreign players, most of whom have left for their home countries.

The good news for BCCI came on Tuesday as Cricket Australia has issued a statement sympathetic to the Aussie players willing to return to the IPL, leaving the ball in the individual player's court.
