New Delhi, March 18 -- Amitabh Bachchan has set a new record by becoming India's highest tax-paying celebrity for the financial year 2024-25, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan. This year, his total earnings reached Rs.350 crore, leading to a tax liability of Rs.120 crore.

Bachchan's income generated from several sources including films, brand endorsements, and Kaun Banega Crorepati, a show he has been hosting over 2 decades, Pinkvilla said. Last year, he paid Rs.71 crore in taxes, marking a sharp 69% increase in his tax contribution this year.
