New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- The 15-year-old girl from Odisha who was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for her treatment after she was allegedly set on fire by three miscreants in Puri district, died in AIIMS Delhi on Saturday. She succumbed to her burn injuries while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The teen was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi from AIIMS Bhubaneswar on July 20.

The girl was set on fire by three unknown people on the morning of July 19 on the banks of river Bhargavi in Puri district. She had sustained 70 per cent burn injury.

Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi condoled the 15-year-old's death on social media platform X.
