New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that he had spoken to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and enquired about his health. PM Modi said he wished the Congress leader a speedy recovery.

"Praying for his continued well-being and long life," Modi said in a post on X.

Kharge on Wednesday underwent a procedure to have a pacemaker implanted, his son and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said on Wednesday.

The 83-year-old leader was admitted to the city's MS Ramaiah Hospital on Tuesday, party sources said.

Priyank Kharge said that his father's condition is stable and he is doing well.
