New Delhi, Jan. 6 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday, January 6, rapped the central pollution watchdog - the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in Delhi-NCR areas - for seeking a two-month adjournment on the issue of temporary closure or relocation of toll plazas at Delhi borders to ease traffic congestion.

"CAQM will consider toll plaza issue, uninfluenced by stand taken by various stakeholders," the Supreme court said, adding a scathing remark that the central pollution body was "failing in doing its duty."

It has also directed the pollution watchdog to convene meeting of experts in two weeks and submit report on major causes of worsening pollution, news agency PTI reported.
