India, March 11 -- Ataxia is a condition caused by damage in cerebellum, a part of the brain, that leads to poor muscle control affecting movement. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Aniruddha More, consultant neurologist, Jupiter Hospital, Thane said, "Ataxia is not a disease but only a sign of the underlying nerve damage, primarily the cerebellum, that is responsible for motor coordination. Individuals with ataxia have unstable movement, difficulty speaking, and impaired limb control, which significantly impacts daily living activities."
