New Delhi, March 14 -- The Supreme Court will hear on March 15 a plea by non-profit Association for Democratic Reforms to restrain the Union government from appointing two new election commissioners under a law cleared by Parliament last year until its legality is decided. The petition asked that, in the meantime, the government be ordered to fill the positions through a consultative procedure that involves the Chief Justice of India in the selection panel. "I have received a message from the office of the Chief Justice of India. This matter will be listed on Friday," justice Sanjiv Khanna said on Wednesday.P8
