India, April 2 -- When a person is sexually active, one of the main causes behind missed periods can be pregnancy. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Astha Dayal, director of obstetrics and gynecology, CK Birla Hospital Gurgaon said, "A missed period and dark blood clots could be symptoms of early pregnancy, with implantation bleeding or a complication like ectopic pregnancy or threatened miscarriage. We must do a urine pregnancy test or beta hcg blood test and a transvaginal ultrasound to ensure this."
