New Delhi, June 25 -- The irrigation and flood control (I&FC) department is set to hire a consultant for a riverfront project along the Najafgarh drain, officials aware of the matter said. The department has identified 21 acres along the drain, near Vipin Garden in Dwarka, and plans to turn it into a community recreation and social space, officials said. As part of the plan, a clean park, walking track, landscaping, chhath ghat, and vehicle parking space will be developed along the riverfront. The consultant will prepare a detailed project report in three months and submit it to the government, officials said. Najafgarh drain is another name for the Sahibi river.
