DEHRADUN, May 12 -- A power consumer from Dehradun has claimed that a major billing error in Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL). Consumer Advocate Deepak Bhatia has registered a formal complaint in this regard with UPCL Headquarters at Kanwali Road here, pointing towards serious discrepancies in electricity billing, neglect of consumer grievances, and financial injustice to the public.

Deepak Bhatia in his complaint has alleged in the February 2025 electricity bill, the amount for January-which he had already paid-was added again, along with a late payment charge.
