Dehradun, March 29 -- Representatives of various trade associations and social organisations met the SSP, here, on Wednesday. They complained about the allegedly harassment of traders by political party workers.
The traders told the SSP that some members of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) were threatening shopkeepers and demanding money. They said that UKD workers were entering shops and forcing traders to pay them. One major complaint was about an incident in Rajpur, where UKD members allegedly misbehaved with the owner and staff of a cafe lodge. They tried to pressure them for illegal payments.
