Dehradun, May 14 -- Central General Secretary of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) Kiran Rawat has reiterated the party's demand for liquor prohibition across Uttarakhand. She today urged the Central and State Governments to implement an immediate liquor ban. Rawat stated that Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, should be declared a dry state.

Warning that failure to enforce prohibition would prompt a state-wide anti-drug movement, Rawat announced that Uttarakhand Kranti Dal will begin awareness and warning rallies against liquor and drug abuse. According to the party, the drug trade has reached alarming levels in Dehradun, posing a serious threat to families and social stability.
