Dehradun, Feb. 10 -- Sportspersons from Uttarakhand gave an outstanding performance in boxing, today, at the National Games, winning three gold medals and a total of five medals. Sports Minister Rekha Arya described this achievement as a historic one, as Uttarakhand's team reached the top 10 for the first time in the history of the National Games.
On Friday, in various boxing events, Uttarakhand's Nivedita Karki, Kapil Pokharia, and Narendra won gold medals. Additionally, Kajal and Himanshu Solanki won silver medals. With three gold medals in a single day, Uttarakhand made a significant leap in the medals tally, surpassing major states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and West Bengal to secure a place in the top 10.
