Dehradun, May 17 -- An SIT has been formed by IG, Garhwal, Rajeev Swaroop, to investigate a scam amounting to Rs 136 crore in various construction projects handled by the Uttarakhand Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (UPRNN) between 2012 and 2018.

"The SIT has been formed to investigate the matter and has been instructed to submit a progress report every 15 days to the SSP, Dehradun," said IG Garhwal Rajeev Swaroop. He added that the investigation will be supervised by SP City, Dehradun. The Uttarakhand government and police follow a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, he stated. Strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in corrupt practices, he said.
