Dehradun, May 3 -- The Police have seized 118 vehicles. Out of these, 65 have been used in illegal mining, overloading, and violating traffic rules; while 16 vehicles were seized for drunk driving, here, on Thursday.

SSP Ajai Singh said that the action was taken to ensure road safety during the Char Dham Yatra and to control speeding for smooth traffic flow in the city.

According to the police, SSP has given strict order against breaking traffic rules. He had clearly instructed all police stations to run a campaign against those people who are breaking the rules. Following the orders, police found many vehicles involved in illegal mining, overloading, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
