Dehradun, 6 Aug: Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi has directed that the roads constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Bhatwari block of Uttarkashi district must remain open under all circumstances.

During a meeting held at his camp office on Wednesday, the minister instructed the Chief Engineer of URRDA to ensure immediate repair and reopening of roads in sensitive areas like Dharali and Harsil so that relief and rescue operations are not hindered. He emphasised that in remote regions, PMGSY roads serve as vital alternative lifelines during disasters, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
