Dehradun, 12 Jan: The Wildlife Preservation Society, Dehradun, established on 13 April 1958, is one of the oldest societies in India involved in Wildlife Conservation and has the rare distinction of having two past Presidents of India, VV Giri and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed as Chief Patrons. The Society was renamed as The Wildlife Preservation Society of India in 1960. The Society constitution was registered under the Societies Registration Act 21 of 1960.
Over the years, the Society has diversified its aims to include not only wildlife but also awareness towards Climate Change, conservation of environment and Biodiversity, and Management of the Zoological Park. The Society started publication of a wil...
