Nainital, Jan. 7 -- The Uttarakhand High Court has granted interim relief to former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Suresh Rathore by staying his arrest in two of the four cases registered against him in Haridwar and Dehradun districts. After hearing the matter today, the single bench of Justice Ashish Naithani issued notices to the State Government and the complainants, directing them to file their responses within four weeks.

It may be recalled that multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) had been lodged against Suresh Rathore and his alleged wife, Urmila Sanawar, at Jhabreda and Bahadarabad police stations in Haridwar, as well as in Nehru Colony and Dalanwala police stations in Dehradun.
